"A powerful, haunting contemporary score which is bound to excite and captivate... a composer to watch in the near future"
Fringe Review on Constance & Sinestra
"Fully realised, beautifully arranged slices of miniaturist storytelling/musical theatre, with the delicacy and precision of chamber music and a strong sense of the macabre"
Bearded Magazine on The Clockwork Quartet
"Strange, disturbing, weird, yet rather compelling"
AltSounds on The Clockwork Quartet
"Tarnished, bittersweet music"
The Guardian on The Clockwork Quartet
"Patrick Gleeson's score is fun, emotive and arresting"
The Scotsman on Constance & Sinestra
"The jewels are the strong songs. Their vision, depth and thoughtful arrangement put to shame the hackneyed standards of the contemporary musical scene"
The Stage on Constance & Sinestra
"A pleasure to watch, and musical numbers blend marvellously as they vary between teary laments and comedic character pieces"
Broadway Baby on Constance & Sinestra
"Eerie, exotic-sounding"
The Evening Standard on The Clockwork Quartet
"The script is tight and the songs are better, sometimes haunting and at other times jaunty... exquisitely creepy"

Constance & Sinestra and the Cabinet of Screams is a musical I co-created with writer/director/producer/genius Alexandra Spencer-Jones.
It appeared in its first incarnation at the Edinburgh Festival 2011 as part of Action To The Word's 3-show rep. After garnering
several enthusiastic reviews and winning Alex the MTM:UK Emerging Artist award the show transferred to the New Wimbledon Studio,
opening, fittingly, on halloween. It is currently being developed, and will see its third outing in 2012.
A dark story of bonbons, taxidermy, and spooky little girls, the piece draws heavily on gothic and fairytale influences, and
is unsuitable for those adults and children who scare easily...

In late 2009 I started exploring ways of adapting H.G. Wells's short
story A Story of the Stone Age as a musical drama.
I have written a series of preparatory sketches, some of which are below,
with a view to creating an extended suite of music to accompany a physical
theatre/dance performance of the story. There are no current plans to develop this,
but it remains on my list of projects to do when I get a free moment...

It started off as a piece of theatre. Then it became a band. Then it became an online, multimedia novel.
Now I'm not sure what The Clockwork Quartet is, but along the way I wrote a series of narrative songs for it, some of which
were recorded and put online, and which gained a small but loyal fan following.

Sex on the Beach is a short film from One Big Mop productions, filmed in 2011 and due for completion in
early 2012. I was given the opportunity to write the score for it. Not all of the material below made it into
the final edit, but these are the cues I most enjoyed writing.
